Folk Culture-Qintong Boat Festival
The boat festival is a unique folk-custom activity in Qin Lake area. On the second day of Tomb-sweeping Day every year, hundreds of boats from villages and towns gather here on Qin Lake to participate in the annual China Qintong Boat Festival. On this day, more than 100,000 tourists arrive here every year. Over 1000 boats participate in the performance on the lake and form a very spectacular scene. Nowadays, the Qintong Boat Festival together with other festivals such as the Water-splashing Festival of Dai Nationality, Torch Festival in Liangshan, Sichuan Province, the Ice and Snow Festival in Harbin is listed in the China Top 10 Folk Festival Activities by National Tourism Administration. In 2007, it was listed as the National First Batch of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
