Louisiana cypress
Louisiana cypress is also named bald cypress. Its trunk is round and straight, and it can grow up to 25 to 50 meters. In spring, its young shoot is green, and then turns into brown in autumn. Its timber is heavy with dense structure, straight vein, moderate hardness, high corrosion resistant, which can be used for building house and furniture. It is widely planted on the banks of rivers and lakes in the south of the Yangtze River to beautify and protect the river banks. The Louisiana cypress originally grew in America and it has been growing in China for more than 80 years. In addition, its seeds are the favorite food for birds, squirrels and other wild animals. The trees can improve the ecological chain of wetland and conserve the soil and water.
